RAEng funding opportunities open for applications

A reminder that The Royal Academy of Engineering runs a programme of grants to support the pursuit of engineering activities and to enable closer contact between academia and industry; the following funding opportunities are now open for applications. Members of the advanced materials community are welcome to seek input from Royce in developing their applications – please email info@royce.co.uk with RAEng application in the title of your email.

Enterprise Fellowships

Enterprise Fellowships is a twelve-month accelerator programme to support talented researchers and graduates to transform breakthrough engineering innovations in disruptive spinouts and startups. We offer an equity-free grant of up to £75,000 and 75 hours of hybrid training on business strategy, leadership, finance and marketing to prepare you to pitch for investment. You benefit from year-long one-to-one business coaching and mentoring from our unrivalled network of 300+ mentors from across the Academy Fellows. Open to UK-based: academics at any level of seniority, PhD students, and recent university graduates.

Award value: £50,000 – £75,000

Deadline: 27 February 2023 for outline applications

 

Industrial Fellowships

The scheme aims to strengthen the strategic relationship between industry and academia by providing an opportunity to establish or enhance collaborative research between the two parties.

  • The scheme is open to engineers from all disciplines
  • An industry to academia fellowship option is now available
  • Awards can be held from six months to two years, full-time or part-time

Award value: up to £50,000 per annum

Deadline: 28 February 2023, 4pm

 

Chair in Emerging Technologies

These highly prestigious awards aim to identify global research visionaries who will lead major research, translation, and innovation programmes around key emerging technologies, to facilitate technology commercialisation and the creation of significant UK economic and social benefit.

Award: £2,500,000
