Events at the Henry Royce Institute

X-ray powder diffraction is one of the most common in-house characterisation methods, used to provide information on a host of different samples including metals, ceramics, battery materials and pharmaceuticals. This course will explore powder diffraction refinement techniques used to analyse the data obtained.

Rising Stars is returning to the Henry Royce Institute in February 2024. Developed and delivered by early career researchers to celebrate and support the rising stars within under-represented groups in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields.

During this half -term the Science and Industry Museum will be hosting an array of events. Discover the power of play with a programme of free, hands-on fun, games and challenges for all ages. 

If you want to help reduce the effects of climate change, but don't know where to start, or aren't sure if the choices you make actually make a difference, then this event is here to help.

This three-day programme is comprised of site tours, case studies, roundtables and targeted discussions. The agenda will follow the Chatham House Rule; all participants by virtue of participation agree that anyone who comes to a meeting is free to use information from the discussion but is not allowed to name the person who made any particular comment. This increases openness of discussion.

This workshop will engage the next generation of materials science researchers and future entrepreneurs. It will equip participants with knowledge of the commercialisation process and steps needed to successfully progress a new material from research to product.
