High Velocity Erosion Rig

Bespoke rig

Cranfield University | National High Temperature Surface Engineering Centre

A laboratory test apparatus used to simulate and measure the wear on a material’s surface caused by the high-speed impact of particles.

Description

High velocity erosion rig capable of room temperature and high temperature erosion, particle velocities from 200-400m/s (dependent on particle size), maximum test temperature 800°C.

Uses / Applications

High temperature erosion, ballistic impact, foreign object damage.
