Detailed Description
This instrument can determine the thermal behavior of materials and has the option of an external light source to examine the thermal behaviour (and hence kinetics) of polymer photo-cure for coating formulations and the photodegradation of polymer films.
Uses/Applications
The thermal properties of Photo-cured coatings can be measured.
Additonally the photodegradation of polymers in UV light can be observed by the change in thermal properties observed (Tg,Tm, Xc).
The impact and effectiveness of UV-stabiliser additives can also be measured.
Discovery DSC 250 allows measurement from -180°C up to 725°C with and accuracy of ±0.05°C.
Different atmospheres can be selected such as air, Nitrogen or 100% Oxygen.
Tzero calibration technology allows simple and precise calibration of the instrument, with comparison to standards such as Indium.
The UV-Diode attachment allows UV to be measured from intensitys of 5mW/cm3 up to 60W/cm3.
Spectral range of 250-1000nm.
