Overview
Situated at The University of Manchester, the Royce Hub Building acts as the base of operations for the Henry Royce Institute. The Hub Building represents an initial investment of £105m from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), and was built with the intention of providing a space for collaboration between materials science researchers, technical professionals and industry to create real solutions to global grand challenges.
The Royce Hub Building was designed to catalyse industry engagement with academic research to accelerate the development and commercialisation of advanced materials. As an active research facility and meeting place for the national materials community, the Hub brings together world leading expertise and technical capabilities, providing a space new research innovations alongside a site for learning, discovery and outreach.
With world leading research laboratories and dedicated meeting spaces for the advanced materials and engineering communities, the Hub Building is a place for the wider community to convene, work and collaborate.

The Royce Hub Building in Manchester offers a range of high-quality meeting spaces which are open to the national materials research and innovation community.
Venue hire at the Royce Hub Building is at no cost for materials networking, research, industry and technology focused events or meetings. We can support your Events Manager with additional services such as catering, A/V support and evening receptions.
Our meeting rooms each provide hybrid technology solutions for events with a basic AV set up which is suitable for most standard meetings. Enhanced media packages and expert support is available for an additional cost where required.

Our Research Facilities
The nine-story Royce Hub Building contains over £50m worth of equipment and collaborative space for industrial and academic engagement. The building provides research capability for Advanced Metals Processing, Biomedical Materials, Chemical Materials Design, Material Systems for Demanding Environments, Nuclear Materials, Modelling and Simulation and Imaging and Characterisation.
The Hub Building is home to eleven of Royce’s Technology Platforms, which are groupings of cutting-edge facilities and expertise. Each Platform has a Technology Platform Lead responsible for developing and enhancing the facilities and supporting related research activities which utilise Royce Equipment.
