A growing number of UK training providers and Universities are now providing entrepreneurship and commercialisation education schemes. Royce has worked with a number of these providers in the past to support commercialisation projects for advanced materials science. Wilbe - Bootcamp for Science Founders
BSF is a crash course in fast and practical decision making for scientist founders, providing hands-on sessions delivered by seasoned founders & investors, and supported by a community platform with regular in-person social gatherings. BSF is tailor-made for scientists to understand what it takes to get their discoveries off the ground, going through the ins and outs of building a company and becoming a founder, taught solely by science founders, seasoned investors and spinout experts, on subject matters from biotech to clean energy, and everything in between.

The impulse Programme
The impulse programme serves as a catalyst for entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship. The programme enables the development of high-potential technology innovation into a commercial proposition, for individuals and companies. It is an established action learning programme of global significance with a sharp focus on prioritising and developing “high-potential” business cases. The core of impulse’s approach is a network of passionate mentors and experienced entrepreneurs who act as role models and provide valuable guidance from this highly respected, unique Cambridge innovation cluster.
EnterpriseTECH
ENTERPRISETECH
The EnterpriseTECH experience offers a dynamic blend of education and practical experience tailored for the entrepreneurially-minded STEM researcher or professional. The programme covers core aspects of entrepreneurship, innovation-driven problem-solving, strategic market navigation, and value creation. It also explores your entrepreneurial potential through a team project working on a real-life scientific challenge.
EnterpriseTECH is ideal for people new to business school learning or those who can’t commit to a full-time course. You may be looking for an easy-to-access educational offering or primer without committing to a full Master's degree or MBA in business or entrepreneurship studies.

Introduction to Commercialisation Workshops
Royce delivers regular commercialisation workshops across its partner network, designed for PhD students and postdoctoral researchers.
These workshops provide a practical introduction to the commercialisation process, covering:
- The spin-out process
- Intellectual property fundamentals
- Investment and venture capital pathways
Participants gain valuable insights from experts across academia, industry, and investment.
We aim to build a connected community of advanced materials innovators, supporting participants as they progress along their entrepreneurial journey and access Royce facilities.
