Our Services
Undergraduate Internship Scheme
Each year Royce supports an Undergraduate Internship Scheme across UK higher education institutions to provide scientists at the start of their career with the opportunity to work on materials science research, technical or outreach projects.

															Student Sandpit
Our Student Sandpits provide an opportunity for PhD researchers to network and come together in order to tackle a novel challenge. Participants must quickly assimilate new knowledge outside of the realm of their expertise, propose ideas for a possible solution, and work with a group of new colleagues in a deadline driven environment.

															Stand Out Skills Webinars
Stand Out Skills was a skills series for PhD students working across materials science. Each episode explored a topic or skill that is rarely covered in most PhD programmes. Through the webinar recordings, you can learn complementary skills to build on your research career and scientific training.

															Skills for Postgraduate Researchers
Postgraduate Researchers can benefit from Royce Technical Skills courses, learning to exploit Royce Facilities and developing best practice around experimental techniques alongside peers from research and industry backgrounds.

															National Student Conference
From spring 2025 Royce will run a national conference every two years for early-stage PhD students. This event will offer a chance for students at the start of their careers to share their research, learn about Royce, hear from leaders, and network with others from across the UK materials community.
We hope that the event will offer an inviting and supportive atmosphere, where PhD students can present and engage with their peers, without the normal pressures of making a big impact with a first conference presentation.
