Dr Tarek Haloubi is the Student Engagement Manager at the Henry Royce Institute, bringing a background in biomedical engineering and experience in postgraduate engagement from his time at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and the Postgraduate Institute for Measurement Science (PGI). At the PGI, he championed student representation, chaired the 7th Annual PGI Conference, coordinated training and engagement initiatives for early career researchers, and led institute-wide communication efforts. He also worked with NPL’s University Liaison Management team to support academic partnerships and PhD programmes.
Tarek leads on the Royce Undergraduate Internship Scheme, the Royce National PhD Conference and the Royce PhD Sandpit. He also contributes to other training activities across the institute and supports engagement with UK materials-related CDTs, working closely with academic and industry partners to strengthen the student and early career researcher community.
