Professor Scott Heath is a Nuclear Materials Steering Group Member

Prof. Scott Heath is a Professor of Nuclear Chemistry and Associate Dean for PGR and Early Career Researchers at the University of Manchester; he is also Lead on Education and Skills at the Dalton Nuclear Institute. Scott joined the University of Manchester as a Royal Society University Research Fellow (RSURF) and Senior Lecturer in 2002 and was promoted to Reader in 2005 and Professor in 2017. Prior to this he was a RSURF and Lecturer at the Universities of York and Sheffield. He did his UG degree at the University of Kent at Canterbury, and his PhD at the University of East Anglia, followed by a Research Fellowship at the University of Trieste Italy and a Temporary lectureship at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

His research follows two principal strands- development of analytical techniques for trace radioactive nuclides and control of radioactive contaminants in water-cooled nuclear reactor cooling circuits.
