Dr Samira Malekmohammadi is an experienced materials chemist whose work bridges fundamental science and real-world applications in sustainability, healthcare, and nanotechnology. She specialises in the development of sustainable polymer-based materials, advanced nanocomposites, and 2D materials.
Samira holds a PhD in Chemistry and has held research positions at EPFL in Switzerland and the University of Manchester as a post-doctoral researcher. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and actively contributes to academic leadership through project supervision, editorial roles, and science communication.
At the Henry Royce Institute, she holds the role of Application Scientist within the Centre of Expertise in Advanced Materials and Sustainability (CEAMS). Working at the intersection of academia and industry, she collaborates closely with leading industrial partners and research centres including NPL, NCC, and CPI. Her work focuses on advanced materials design, life cycle analysis (LCA), and high-throughput characterisation to accelerate the development of innovative, environmentally responsible technologies.
