Dr James Fildes (Manchester) is head of the Ex-Vivo Research Centre within the Biomedical Materials theme. He has an international reputation in surgical research and has been instrumental in the development of ex-vivo organ perfusion as a tool to evaluate and recondition donor organs for transplantation. He has over 60 publications with an h-index of 27. He became an elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology in 2012.
