Jack Boyer joined the University of Bristol Board as Chair in January 2019. He is currently the Senior Independent Director of TT Electronics plc and a Non-Executive Director of Ricardo.
Most recently, Jack was Chairman of Seeing Machines plc and Ilika plc, a Non-Executive Director and remuneration committee Chair of Laird plc and Mitie plc, Deputy Chairman of the Advanced Materials Leadership Council (BEIS), Council Member of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and of the Innovate UK Energy Catalyst. He was Chair of Academies Enterprise Trust, the UK’s largest multi-academy trust, from 2016 to 2019.
Jack previously founded and was Chief Executive Officer of companies in the engineering, telecommunications and biotechnology sectors and prior to this, was an investment banker at Goldman Sachs and a strategy consultant at Bain & Co. He holds degrees from Stanford University (B.A. Honours), the London School of Economics (M.Sc) and Insead (MBA).
In 2015, Jack was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Honours for his services to the fields of Science and Engineering.
