Dr Niladri Banerjee is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physics at Loughborough University. He leads a research group focusing on the growth of materials, advanced electronic and magnetic characterisation together with modelling and theory, to engineer and utilise emergent electronic and magnetic phases in thin and bulk materials. These emergent phases are crucial to develop energy-efficient technologies for information processing. His research programme is funded by EPSRC and the British Council.
He has led the undergraduate and postgraduate physics programmes in Loughborough as the Programme Director and currently directs the International Partnership Programme in Physics. He is passionate about promoting STEM subjects among women, and leads the Project Juno (IOP) and Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity in the Department.
Niladri received his PhD from University of Cambridge followed by a Post-Doctoral Research Associate position at Cambridge. During this period, he was a Junior Research Fellow at Wolfson College, Cambridge.
