Since 2019, Dr Cristina Vallés has worked as an academic at within the Department of Materials, National Graphene Institute and Henry Royce Institute at the University of Manchester. Her group’s research focuses on the fabrication of multifunctional polymer nanocomposites for applications in the aerospace sector, and graphene/polymer fibres for wearable electronics.
Dr Vallés is also working on the development of sustainable materials that can replace products currently used in industry. Her research activity in the field of Functional Nanomaterials has been published in over 50 high-ranking, peer-reviewed international journals (>3500 citations [Google Scholar, 08/07/22] with >2100 citations from 2017) and a current H-index of 28.
She has presented her research work in more than 50 International Scientific Conferences (including 15 invited talks) and has two international patents accepted out of her work. In her research career to date she has formed and actively maintain multiple collaborations in an international and interdisciplinary context, including both academia and industry.
