Dr Daniel Bax is an Application Scientist at the Department of Material Science and Metallurgy at the University of Cambridge, where he manages the Royce 3D Bioelectronics Facility. He has a BSc. in Biochemistry, a PhD in Cell Biology and over 20 years post-doctoral experience at the University of Manchester, the University of Sydney and the University of Cambridge. Daniel specialises in examining the interface between novel materials and biological systems, including projects with industrial collaborators, contributing to over 50 journal publications. He can assist physical scientists and engineers in exploring biological applications of their materials or devices using techniques such as in vitrocell culture, analysis of cell behaviour, and 2-photon microscopy of cells deep within 3D materials.
