Alexandra Porter

Alexandra Porter

Professor of Bio-imaging and Analysis

Alexandra’s group uses correlative electron microscopy techniques to characterise interfaces between synthetic and natural bio / nanomaterials and cells and tissues. Her great interest is in developing a mechanistic understanding of how the physicochemistry of these materials controls their degradation behaviour, transformations and ultimate bioreactivity. She uses this knowledge to guide improvement of materials performance and safety.
