Alastair Kilgour is a member of the Henry Royce Institute’s Governing Board.
Alastair was a founder of Parkwalk Advisors, a Venture Capital Firm investing in UK University spinouts and formed in 2009. He was the Chief Investment Officer and oversaw the roll out of the investment strategy and vision which was technology agnostic. He oversaw the deployment of over £500m into the space into around 165 companies in rounds between Seed and Series D. Spinouts from around 23 UK Universities were invested in, with the majority being in the “Golden Triangle”. Over the period Parkwalk were invested in around 10% of all UK University spinouts. Alastair has served on over 20 Company Boards, of both Private and Public companies.
Before this Alastair started a career in the City in 1981 and this included various roles in Banking, including Corporate Finance, Fund management and Capital markets. He was a Global partner at Lazard where he ran the European Capital markets business and sat on the board of Lazard Bank Ltd.
Alastair has a BSc in Biochemistry from Surrey University and an MSc in Management Science from Imperial College and a Corporate Finance Diploma from London Business School. He was named Imperial Alumni Entrepreneur of the year in 2025.
