CuspAI has announced the launch of its AI Materials Foundry, a global network bringing together data, laboratory capabilities, compute infrastructure and scientific expertise to accelerate the discovery and development of next-generation materials through an integrated AI-enabled platform.
The initiative brings together over 45 founding members from across industry and research combining frontier AI models, high-performance computing, experimental facilities and curated materials datasets to support the full materials discovery workflow – from computational design and simulation through to synthesis planning and experimental validation.
The collaboration aims to help address the materials bottleneck that is limiting innovation across sectors including semiconductors, clean energy and advanced manufacturing.
The Henry Royce Institute (Royce) is pleased to be joining the AI Materials Foundry as a Founding Member, reflecting our commitment to advancing collaborative approaches that accelerate innovation in materials science.
As the UK’s national institute for advanced materials research and innovation, Royce will contribute its expertise, facilities and networks to this international community, helping to connect AI-driven discovery with world-leading materials research and experimental capability.
Royce’s participation aligns closely with our recently launched Materials 4.0 Framework, which sets out how digital technologies, artificial intelligence, automation and data can transform the way materials are discovered, developed, manufactured and deployed.
By participating in the AI Materials Foundry Royce will help foster a community of practice that enables researchers and industry to realise the opportunities presented by Materials 4.0, supporting more effective collaboration and helping to accelerate the translation of materials research into commercial impact.
