Join the Henry Royce Institute (Royce) at the UK’s biggest Science event, New Scientist Live, from 12-14th October 2024, ExCeL London, to learn all about the fascinating world of materials science.
Royce (Stand G22) will present the opportunity to get involved with hands-on microscopy activities! You’ll be able to explore a variety of microscopes to uncover the hidden properties of materials that shape our lives and beyond.
- Discover the composition of cutting-edge 2D materials
- See how advanced metals resist corrosion in harsh underwater and extreme environments
- Examine the intricate structures of textiles to understand their everyday uses
- Learn about the materials that make up batteries
- Dive into waterproof materials
- Explore biological specimens, and investigate everyday materials under the microscope.
- You can even touch and analyse real lab samples, directly from our research facilities
The Royce team will also be available to discuss career pathways in materials science and Royce lab facilities around the UK.
We also encourage visitors to take a look at the stand of a key Royce stakeholder – the Manchester Cancer Research Centre (Stand E34). Their team will take you through the journey of a cancer researcher, from efforts to find cancer earlier when it is more treatable, through to exploring the different options for treating the disease.
