Invitation to Join Royce Advanced Metals Processing Research Area Steering Group
The Royce Advanced Metals Processing (AMP) Research Area is seeking individuals with a passion for innovation and a commitment to advancing metallurgical research to join our Steering Group. As a member of the group, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of the research area across the UK, helping us to foster a vibrant community of collaboration and engagement, catalysing research funding and capacity building.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversight, Review, and Scrutiny: Provide oversight, review, and scrutiny of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and reporting from the AMP operations team. Hold the AMP team accountable for achieving set goals and objectives.
- Community Insights: Offer insights into enabling access to Royce Research facilities, ensuring equitable access and utilization for all stakeholders.
- Engagement and Community Building: Identify opportunities for engagement and community building activities. This includes suggesting workshops, collaborative activities, and initiatives to enhance collaboration within the AMP research community.
- Foresighting and Roadmapping: Assist in foresighting and roadmapping efforts, including planning for equipment refresh and future technological advancements in metals processing.
Expectations
- Attend three meetings per year to discuss strategic direction, review progress, and make decisions regarding AMP research initiatives.
- Review relevant papers and materials prior to meetings, dedicating approximately two hours of preparation time.
Term of Appointment
The position on the Royce Advanced Metals Processing Research Area Steering Group is for a duration of three years, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and mutual agreement.
