The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) have announced the launch of their 2023 IOM3 Awards and Prizes, with nominations open for the two brand new awards in collaboration with Royce that recognise and celebrate the achievements and contributions of technical professionals:
Innovation by a Technical Professional Award
The Henry Royce Institute Award for Innovation by a Technical Professional will highlight the crucial input that technical professionals make in advancing our technology and understanding of the materials world.
Outstanding Contribution by a Technical Professional Award
The Henry Royce Institute Award for Outstanding Contribution by a Technical Professional will acknowledge the contributions of an exceptional and established technical professional over a sustained period of time.
Royce Technology Platform Lead for Near Net-Shape Manufacturing Dr Rob Deffley said:
“Technical Professionals hold a unique role in scientific and technology organisations and their expertise underpins the delivery of impactful advanced materials research. These Royce Awards send a signal that Technical Professionals make a huge contribution to solving research challenges whilst also providing visibility and recognition of their vital work.”
IOM3’s annual range of Awards, Medals and Prizes to recognise personal achievement, for published work and for contributions to the profession.

This year’s Awards & Prizes winners will be celebrated on Thursday 7 December at 297 Euston Road.
