UK High-Field Solid-State Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Annual Symposium

Overview

UK High-Field Solid-State NMR Facility Annual Symposium

The EPSRC (and BBSRC)-funded UK High-Field Solid-State Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) National Research Facility will host its annual symposium on April 21st at the University of Warwick, with both in-person and hybrid on-line attendance. The symposium features speakers from research groups across the UK to showcase the capability of this analytical science technique, benefitting from access to state-of-the-art infrastructure, with the UK’s first 1.2 GHz NMR system installed last year (less than 15 worldwide). Many of the presentations focus on applications to materials, including perovskites, zeolites and battery materials. For further details relating to the Annual Symposium, click here.

Solid-State NMR Workshop

The UK High-Field Solid-State NMR Facility (organiser Professor John Griffin, University of Lancaster) is hosting a free one-day in-person workshop on solid-state NMR for those with limited or no knowledge of solid-state NMR (some experience of liquid-state NMR will be beneficial). The workshop will provide hands-on experience with the most advanced high-field solid-state NMR capabilities available in the UK. There will also be a tutorial on key concepts and techniques in solid-state NMR and NMR crystallography, which is supported by the Collaborative Computational Project for NMR Crystallography. The workshop will be held on Monday 20th April 2026 with a dinner for attendees and overnight accommodation provided the evening before. Places are limited to 16 participants and we are often oversubscribed so may not be able to accommodate all requests. Preference will be given to participants who register to attend the annual symposium. For further details relating to the Solid-State NMR Workshop, click here.

The Symposium on April 21st, 2026 will be held in person at the University of Warwick, Scarman Conference Centre and online. A Solid-state NMR workshop will take place at Millburn House, University of Warwick on April 20th, 2026.
