Solid Data Summer School 2025
Data in Solid-State Chemistry
21-24 July 2025 | University of Birmingham
Participants will gain hands-on experience in data management, analysis techniques, and computational tools tailored to solid-state chemistry problems.
The school is aimed primarily at postgraduate students working in experimental materials and solid-state chemistry. Postdoctoral researchers are also welcome to apply.
The course combines introductory lectures on computational methods and data science with team-based projects that blend simulations and experimental data interpretation. You will get to see how to use computational tools to help with structural characterisation and work with data with a critical and analytical perspective.
Applications (see website) close 30 June 2025.
Cost £50, includes accommodation.
The school is generously supported by the Royal Society of Chemistry Solid State Group, Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre and Leverhulme Research Centre for Functional Materials Design.
