Overview
Registration to submit an expression of interest for the upcoming MS4DE share and showcase event is now open.
This event aims to bring MS4DE academics together to encourage communication, collaboration and build a sense of community. Additionally, it’s an opportunity to highlight the breadth of capability and scientific learning within the MS4DE community. We are also inviting expressions of interest to present, with a particular focus on understanding the impact of your research. Presentations that feature work undertaken using Royce facilities or services are particularly welcome, and with agreement, relevant presentations may be developed into case studies for publication on the Royce website and other platforms.
Date: May 20 2026
Time: 09:30:00 – 15:00:00
Format: In-person
Location: University of Leeds, Sir William Henry Bragg Building, Seminar Room GR18
About MS4DE
The Materials Systems for Demanding Environments (MS4DE) Research Area focuses on the interaction between the environment and structural component &/or coating integrity. It investigates material-environment interaction mechanisms in extreme conditions, including mechanically demanding situations, high or cryogenic temperatures, and corrosive environments. The objective being to design and test innovative material solutions that deliver advanced performance and reduce environmental degradation in demanding environments. This innovation is underpinned by mechanistic understanding to support the transition to a net-zero and green economy.
Audience
If you are a researcher in an academic organisation conducting research related to a materials challenge, barrier or opportunity associated with a demanding environment (e.g. material performance at high temperature, high pressure, cryogenic, corrosion or oxidation conditions) or a coating or material technology innovation, please respond to this call to action by completing this expression of interest form. Additionally, this is a fantastic opportunity for ECRs to network and to present their work too!
