In-situ SEM NanoIndentation Workshop

The Henry Royce Institute at the University of Manchester, in conjunction with Bruker Nano Surfaces & Metrology, would like to invite you to a workshop on in-situ SEM Nanoindentation on December 5th, 2024.

This workshop will provide an introduction to advanced in-situ nanomechanical testing techniques inside the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and how these compliment other SEM analytical techniques, e.g. hardness/modulus mapping co-localised with EDS/EBSD.

This workshop is suitable for materials science researchers in academia or industry looking to perform in-situ nanomechanical testing on a broad range of materials. It is especially relevant to materials science PhD students new to the technique, or established researchers needing to use nanoindentation for the first time. Established users may also gain insights into new approaches and benefit from contributing to community best practice.

There will be an opportunity to have samples measured on Bruker’s PI 89 SEM Picoindenter and discuss your application challenges with renowned experts in the field. The workshop will also provide an overview of the state-of-the-art facilities hosted by Royce at The University of Manchester, and other equipment located with Royce partners. Routes to accessing Royce facilities will also be highlighted.
