Cambridge XPS Summer School 2025

Overview

The Cambridge XPS Summer School 2025, delivered in collaboration with Royce at Cambridge, offers an in-depth introduction to X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS). Featuring access to Royce’s state-of-the-art XPS instruments, the programme covers fundamental principles, instrumentation, data acquisition, and advanced spectral analysis. Taught sessions are combined with hands-on workshops, enabling participants to apply XPS techniques in both academic and industrial contexts.

Attendees will take part in group learning, professional communication, and networking activities, with sessions focused on troubleshooting and career development. The programme also aims to strengthen participants’ scientific presentation and communication skills, helping them present their research with clarity and confidence. Subject to availability and prior consultation with the Programme Manager, participants may also have the opportunity to characterise their own samples.

The summer school includes lunches and refreshments throughout, with a limited number of all-inclusive accommodation packages available. The event may also feature support from leading industry sponsors (to be confirmed), offering additional insights into recent advancements in XPS and its applications.
