AMPI technology showcase: The machinery shaping the UK’s industrial future

Join the Advanced Machinery Productivity Institute (AMPI) Technology Showcase 2026 and connect with the people and technologies shaping the future of UK manufacturing. Speakers from the Henry Royce Institute will present at the event, and members of our Research and Business Engagement team will be on hand to answer questions about the institute and it’s operations.

About the Event

The UK has world-class universities, innovative businesses and a strong industrial base. Yet much of the machinery used by industry is still imported. This reliance on overseas capability presents both an economic and strategic risk — and a clear opportunity to strengthen and scale capability within the UK.

AMPI brings together academic expertise and industrial innovation to reduce the time, cost and risk of developing new machinery, and supports businesses to adopt and deploy advanced technologies with confidence.

At this showcase, you will discover technologies created through AMPI collaborations and designed for real industrial application, including:

  • Precision machine tools
  • Robotics and automation systems
  • Measurement and sensing
  • Digital manufacturing solutions

Developed in response to industrial demand, these technologies are already being adopted by industry to improve capability, increase productivity and deliver measurable impact.

The event showcases innovators from Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire, and highlights how collaboration directly supports national priorities, strengthens supply chains, and accelerates the adoption of new technologies.

Why attend

  • See what works – proven machinery technologies demonstrated by those who built them
  • Assess readiness – understand where solutions can be applied in your organisation
  • Build collaborations – connect with industry and academic partners
  • Access support – learn about funding and opportunities to scale innovation

This event is for engineers, technical leaders and decision-makers who want practical insight into advanced machinery innovation and the partners delivering it.
