This event is aimed at industry colleagues who would like to find out more about what we do and it also offers the opportunity to work more closely with academics from both Manchester and Sheffield Universities in partnership with the Henry Royce Institute.

We want to help your business develop cutting edge solutions for the UK’s rapidly growing ageing population by offering our world-class expertise in biomedical materials research and access to state-of-the-art facilities. There’s also the opportunity for your business to work with motivated, top-class PhD students on dedicated 4 year collaborative projects all helping to ensure that you stay ahead of the competition.

The event is an opportunity to:

  • discover more about the ABM CDT and opportunities for industry to collaborate with academics from the Universities of Manchester and Sheffield
  • find out how businesses can access state-of-the-art facilities to develop cutting-edge solutions for the UK’s rapidly growing ageing population
  • hear more about research businesses can undertake with world-class PhD students in dedicated 4-year collaborative projects, who can support commercial ambitions

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from experts working at the cutting-edge of biomedical research at both the Universities of Manchester and Sheffield, under one of 6 themes we will be setting out on the day, grouped as follows:

  • Bioelectronics, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Healthcare
  • Additive Manufacturing and Fibre Technology
  • Improved Pre-clinical Characterisation and Biomaterials for Cancer & Disease Models

While the event is virtual, we will also be showcasing the state-of-the-art Biomedical Materials laboratories in the new Royce Hub Building via a “Virtual Tour”.
