Dr. Teresa Pérez Prado is Deputy Director of Imdea Materials Institute in Madrid, Spain, where she heads the research group on Physical Metallurgy. Since 2018 she is also Manager of the programme on Structural Materials at the Spanish National Science Foundation. She is a member of the International Advisory Board of the European Space Agency and of several European research institutes (IRT Jules Verne, France, and NOMATEN Center of Excellence, Poland).

Dr. Pérez-Prado was part of the founding team of IMDEA Materials (employee #6, now 150 in staff) in 2008 and has led the strategic area on additive manufacturing (AM), setting up facilities covering the entire cycle of materials´ design (from powder fabrication to post-processing).

Teresa got her PhD degree in Physics from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1998 and an MBA from INSEAD in 2008. She also worked at the University of California in San Diego (UCSD) as a Postgraduate Research Engineer and at the University of Southern California (Los Angeles) as Research Assistant Professor for several years. She has coauthored 125 JCR articles,1 book (Elsevier, 2004), and 3 patents. She has participated in 37 research projects and has acted as PI in 27 of them. She has an h factor of 39 and close to 6000 citations.
