Dr Michael Leverentz is the Research Development Manager for Royce Atoms2Device theme and the Nano Advanced Materials Engineering (NAME) programme manager at Imperial College London.  Michael’s experience in Research Development has focused the creation of academic and commercial partnerships, and the development of strategic grant applications; this includes successful awards, such as the University of Manchester led EPSRC CDT in Advanced Biomedical Materials and two consecutive Singapore Ministry of Education Tier 3 programme grants, at the National University of Singapore.  His scientific background comprises over 10 years of postdoctoral research in biochemistry, in both the academic and commercial sectors, ranging from lipid peroxidation to advanced therapeutic medical products.  He received his BA from the University of California, Riverside, USA in Plant Sciences and English Literature, and his PhD from Royal Holloway and Bedford New Colleges, University of London, UK in Biochemistry. His role will be to source new opportunities for research funding, chaperone large-scale grant applications, and build partnerships with industry and academic research institutions.
