Dr Alex Broomsgrove

Alex Broomsgrove is the Head of Advanced Materials at the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). As part of this role, he is lead contact for the Henry Royce Institute within EPSRC.
Having worked within the UK Research Councils for close to a decade Alex has held a range of roles across EPSRC including supporting establishment of three EPSRC institutes namely, the Henry Royce and Rosalind Franklin Institutes and the UK Collaboratorium for Research on Infrastructure and Cities (UKCRIC) as a senior manager. Prior to that he was a portfolio manager within the EPSRC Engineering theme.
Alex had a brief spell working in industry for Purolite, an Ion exchange resin manufacturer and he has a background in the Physical Sciences with a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Oxford.
