As the Research and Innovation Development Officer for the Bragg Centre for Materials Research and the Henry Royce Institute at the University of Leeds, Daniel’s role primarily involves supporting academic staff in increasing their research funding and improving impact. This is achieved through helping to identify and secure funding, industrial engagement, and providing advice on commercialisation of research; e.g. how to protect IP, setting up spin-out companies, translational funding streams and preparation of investment portfolios.

Daniel’s background is in materials science research with a focus on the synthesis, characterisation and application of novel liquid crystalline materials. I have a strong background in a university research environment and have been fortunate enough to develop world-wide collaborations to achieve project aims.
