Tom McDonald is a Reader in Sustainable Materials at the University of Manchester. He obtained his PhD from the University of Manchester and started his independent academic career as a lecturer at the University of Liverpool in 2013. In 2023, Tom joined the University of Manchester as a Reader. His research interests focus on the development of sustainable polymers and plastics, as well as the design and fabrication of nanomaterials for drug delivery and other biomedical applications.
Tom McDonald has published over 60 papers in peer-reviewed journals and has attracted over £8 million in research funding from various sources, including the EPSRC, NERC, and Innovate UK.
