Luke Richards is the Digital Communications Manager for the Henry Royce Institute and is based at the University of Manchester.
He leads on the digital footprint of the institute across its partnership of 11 leading research institutions, and is responsible for developing and delivering Royce’s digital communications strategy to maximise the impact of materials innovation delivered by the institute.
With an extensive background in strategic communications, Luke brings invaluable experience to Royce spanning commercial, manufacturing, engineering, chemistry and leisure sectors. He has successfully led large programmes of work and engaged with senior leaders from industry and government to deliver communications objectives and turn research and policy into operational delivery.
In the past, Luke has also built experience as a journalist in the culture sector and acted as an Assistant Editor for an academic journal in the Humanities field.
