Celebrate trailblazing ideas in science and the arts with Discover Materials at the Great Exhibition Road Festival.  Discover Materials will be at the South Kensington event on the 18th-19th of June 2022 for a weekend of free events for all ages.

Discover Materials Ambassadors can be found in the Hands on Family Zone in Princes Garden and running the Art of Corrosion Workshop (https://www.greatexhibitionroadfestival.co.uk/event/art-corrosion).

Corrosion is a major issue in engineering, causing broken pipelines, collapsed bridges and sinking ships, leading to huge consequences for our environment. In this workshop, learn about the different approaches scientists are exploring to tackle the corrosion problem in metals. Using various chemical reactions between copper and common household items, you will create uniquely colourful keychains to take home.
