The first application round for the NNUF user access scheme is now open
The National Nuclear User Facility is a Government investment in the UK’s nuclear future, providing state-of-the-art experimental facilities for research and development in nuclear science and technology. The Government has awarded £6.5m to allow any UK-based university researcher, and their international collaborators, to apply to use these facilities. The closing date is Friday 25th September 2020, and this call covers access taking place primarily during October – December 2020.
NNUF facilities accepting applications for this first round include:
- The Active Nano Mapping Facility at the University of Bristol
- ADRIANA (Advanced Digital Radiometric Instrumentation for Applied Nuclear Activities) at Lancaster, Liverpool and Culham Centre for Fusion Energy.
- The University of Manchester Dalton Cumbrian Facility
- The MC40 Cyclotron Facility at the University of Birmingham
- The High Temperature Facility hosted by Jacobs Engineering Group.
- The Hot Robotics Facility (a partnership between UKAEA RACE Facility, University of Bristol, National Nuclear Laboratory and the University of Manchester’s Dalton Cumbria Facility)
- UKAEA’s Materials Research Facility
- The National Nuclear Laboratory
