The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) is hosting a training course in hydrogen technology specifically designed for postgraduate students, industrial researchers and policymakers. The course will run from 6 to 8 October 2026.
Overview
Reliable measurements are essential for turning hydrogen technologies from promising concepts into deployable systems. Whether you are developing new materials, comparing device performance, assessing durability, or using test data to inform investment and policy decisions, the quality of your measurements matters.
This three-day NPL course provides both theoretical and practical training in proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs), proton exchange membrane water electrolysers (PEMWEs), alkaline water electrolysers (AWEs), and anion exchange membrane water electrolysers (AEMWEs). Through expert lectures and hands-on laboratory sessions in NPL’s specialist facilities, participants will learn how to make, interpret and report measurements with confidence, using international standards and recognised best practice to ensure repeatability and reproducibility.
