The Advanced Materials Show returns to the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham on the 8th and 9th of July 2026, bringing together the full materials community from across research, engineering and industry to explore the latest technologies in advanced materials.
Co-located with the Advanced Ceramics Show, Battery Cells & Systems Expo and the Vehicle Electrification Expo, this year’s event is set to welcome over 4,000 attendees over two days and will explore key themes across the latest innovations in materials as well as manufacturing processes and technologies.
About the Advanced Materials Show
The Advanced Materials Show is a leading showcase for materials with exceptional properties for engineering and electronic applications, alongside the technologies used to develop them.
Attendees will have the opportunity to explore cutting-edge technology and product innovation from leading material developers and service providers, while also gaining insights from industry leaders and technical experts through focused sessions covering a wide array of areas, such as graphene and 2D materials, surface engineering, coatings and composites and polymers. The event also offers a valuable platform to connect with engineers, researchers, business leaders and decision-makers who can help accelerate projects or unlock new market opportunities, as well as to network with peers and potential partners from across the materials supply chain.
Royce will be among the 300+ exhibitors on-site. Visitors can find the Royce team at stand 406. Members of the Communications, Research, and Business Engagement teams will be available to discuss how Royce can support your journey, including access to world-class facilities, funding and grant opportunities, collaborative research and development partnerships and pathways to commercialisation.
The Royce Panel: Navigating the Journey from Materials Breakthroughs to Real-World Impact
The Henry Royce Institute will host a featured panel session on the morning of Day 1 exploring the journey from research to commercialisation as part of the Lab to Business theme. The panel will bring together specialists from deep-tech entrepreneurship, industry and research to explore how advanced materials innovations make the journey from early-stage laboratory discovery to scalable commercial success.
Chaired by Professor Dave Knowles, CEO of Royce, the session will bring together a distinguished group of experts from across innovation, industry and intellectual property. Speakers include Dr. Kalyan Sarma of Ploughshare, Viju Vasishta of PA Consulting, Brenna Howley, patent attorney at Gill Jennings & Every LLP, and Dr. Ejaz Hussain, CEO and Co-Founder of LeafyColl Ltd.
This Royce-led panel will examine the many steps between lab-based proof-of-concept and market adoption, with a particular focus on how founders, universities and investors can build ventures that are both technically credible and commercially viable.
