Royce Training: Thermo-Calc for Alloys Researchers

Overview

This course will provide an overview of the use of Thermo-Calc for the modelling of alloy systems. The content will  provide an introduction to Thermo-Calc’s key functions and how to conduct thermodynamic calculations. Participants will have the opportunity to run the software, conduct their own calculations and explore test data. It will also serve as an opportunity to learn more about simulation tools and other advanced features – such as  diffusion simulations in DICTRA.

The course has a cost of £40 per person.

Audience

This course is aimed at metallurgy researchers and industrial scientists in the UK wanting to familiarise themselves with Thermo-Calc’s predictive capabilities. Existing Thermo-Calc users may appreciate the opportunity for revision of the fundamentals and an update on new developments and capabilities.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course participants should be able to:

  • Navigate Thermo-Calc software and access various calculations.
  • Conduct basic calculations using the software.
  • Identify more advanced calculations available within the suit.
  • Apply appropriate calculations to their own research work.
