Description
The viscoelastic properties of polymers are measured by applying stress to samples over a dynamic temperature range. A range of clamps can be used to simulate different stress forces (linear etc.)
Uses / Applications
The mechanical properties of polymers can be assessed over temperature ranges up to their melting points. This can give the storage modulus, Young’s modulus, Glass transition temperature and other important characteristics.
Specification
Viscoelastic measurements on materials from 1000 Pa to 1000 GPa. Accurate measurements up to 18 N of force, with a sensitivity of 0.1 mN. Deformation amplitudes from 0.0005 to 10 000 µm, with a resolution of 0.1 nm. The frequency range of operation is 0.001 to 200 Hz. The following clamps and accessories are available for use: 3-point bending, shear sandwich, compression, film/fibre tension, powder characterization kit, relative humidity accessory and submersion clamps.
