Dr Michael Burkinshaw is an Ms4DE Steering Group Member based at Cummins Components and Software
Dr Michael Burkinshaw leads the Europe Materials Science and Engineering organisation within Cummins Components and Software, where he is also global tribology expert and technical authority on turbocharger materials.
Michael and his team are developing innovative solutions to meet future engineering challenges; materials, surface treatments and manufacturing processes to improve product sustainability and durability whilst minimising cost. In addition to his role within Materials Science and Engineering, Michael is accountable for University collaborations across the business; his area of expertise is in developing strategic partnerships to enable business success.
