Amy Lloyd is an application scientist for the Centre of Expertise in Advanced Materials and Sustainability (CEAMS) programme. Amy obtained her undergraduate and master’s degrees in Chemistry at the University of Liverpool, with placements at Chulalongkorn University, Queensland University of Technology, and Unilever. Her research projects included the synthesis and characterisation of quantum dots for pesticide detection and investigating the colloidal stabilisation mechanisms of anti-redeposition agents within the laundry process. She joined Professor Steve Rannard’s group at the Materials Innovation Factory for her PhD, developing sustainable polymer packaging for low-cost diagnostics in collaboration with Global Access Diagnostics. In CEAMS, Amy will focus on the delivery of technical solutions in the field of materials science.
