Detailed Description

Temperature can be varied between 1.8 and 400K as standard and up to 1000K for Vibrating Sample Magnetometry (VSM), DC measurements and ac susceptibility in magnetic fields up to 7T.

We can simulate extreme environments with a pressure cell exerting up to 1.3GPa.

AC Resistance, Hall effect, I-V and differential resistance measurements can be performed under all conditions.

Fast loading of samples and full sweeps of magnetic field (30 min) mean the system is a highly efficient and versatile characterisation instrument.

Uses/Applications

The SQUID has three different magnetometry measurements (VSM, DC and AC susceptibility) as a function of temperature (2K to 1000K), magnetic field (up to 7T) and pressure (up to 1.3 GPa).

It will also do electrical measurements as a function of temperature (up to 400K) and field (up to 7T).

It also has an ultra low field option, to allow for accurate zero field measurements.
