Dr Robert Burrows
Senior Plant Chemist
Rob Burrows (PhD CChem MICorr FRSC) is a senior plant chemist who has supported the civil nuclear industry for over twenty years in various topics relating to chemistry and corrosion. Much of Rob’s experience has concerned materials subjected to high levels of irradiation, high temperature, corrosive environments, long service lifetimes and complex stress situations. Rob has worked in the UKs National Nuclear Laboratory and predecessor organisations since starting his career at the former Berkeley Technology Centre. He is now part of the NNLs Reactor Chemistry and Corrosion team and co-lead for the internally funded research theme of the same name. He is also a visiting researcher with the University of Bristol where he collaborates in research on advanced in situ characterisation of interfaces and material behaviour in high temperature coolants.
